are your automatic windows possessed?

Lately when I go to roll a window up by activating the switch, it goes up then it decids to go back down on its own! Sometimes this happens 2 or 3 times.

Anyone else have a truck with this feature?

Your door has a sensor that detects the resistance against the window. If you hit the automatic close button, and then you grab the window and stop it, the motor stops then reverses, rather than arm wrestling you. It sounds like the window is meeting too much resistance. Lubricating the track and or window seal sometimes helps. You can also cram some abrasive cloth into the seal and run it all the way around to scrub the seal clean. Imagine if someone was sticking their head out the window, and bumped the close button. If the motor did not stop, it could crush or otherwise injure the person's neck - so that sensor is a safety feature. You can test the resistance theory by "assisting" the window. Hit the close button, but push up on the window with your hands as it travels. You will effectively reduce the resistance that the sensor detects, and it will not trigger the safety feature.

Might try and see if the reprogram works:

Programming the Power Windows

If the battery on the vehicle has been recharged or disconnected, or is not working, the driver power window will need to be reprogrammed for the express-up feature to work.

To reprogram the power windows:

1. Close all doors.

2. Place the ignition in ACC/ ACCESSORY or ON/RUN/ START.

3. From any open position, pull the power window switch up until the window is fully closed.

4. Hold the switch up for approximately two seconds after the window is fully closed.

The window is now reprogrammed.

Express Window Anti-Pinch Feature

If any object is in the path of the window when express-up is active, the window stops at the obstacle and auto-reverses to a preset factory position. Weather conditions such as severe icing also cause the window to auto-reverse. The window returns to normal operation once the obstacle or condition is removed.

{Express Window Anti-Pinch

OverrideWarning

If express override is activated, the window will not reverse automatically.

You or others could be injured and the window could be damaged. Before you use express override, make sure that all people and obstructions are clear of the window path.

The anti-pinch feature can be overridden in a supervised mode.

Hold the window switch in the partially or fully pulled up position.

The window rises for as long as the switch is held.

Once the switch is released, the express mode is reactivated.

In this mode, the window can still close on an object in its path.

Use care when using the override mode.

I have in channels and every so often I have to play with the window to get it to stay up, usually 3 tries nails it

The relearn procedure seemed to help out a great deal. I installed the AVS in channel vent visors, and they contributed to the unwanted auto down.

This. Just do the relearn procedure and it should work. I found one different than above that was included as GM instructions with the dealer-installed vent visors (EGR):

1) Close the window all the way.

2) Open the window all the way. As it gets to the end of travel hold the Open button down for 5 seconds.

3) Close the window all the way. As it gets to the end of travel hold the Close button up for 10 seconds.

4) If you have in-channel vent visors installed leave the windows closed for 48 hours (in the sun if possible).

After I did this I haven't had any problems with the windows reversing. Even if you don't have vent visors try the first 3 steps.

Wow, I did not even know that you could re-program the windows... thanks for posting.
