You should Not read into Too much of FERD'S PR's it's making you look more and more like an F-150 guy.....Not that there is anything wrong with that. GM does not have publicize every thing they do good and bad only the facts really like an AL bed for example.....maybe you should spin one of those 2.7 TT around the block for us and post on F-150 forum?

Ford has been making a big deal of it. They want to be a big part of the 1 million plus vehicles that need to be replaced in Texas from Harvey. They want public confidence that there is no previous damage in the new vehicles they sale out of stock.

You are right GM & Dodge have not been making a big deal about what they are doing with damaged new stock vehicles and they don't have to. It is up to the buyers to know the previous condition of the new vehicle they are buying.

Something that crossed my mind here. 17 is almost over so if you bought a 17 truck and put put 12k on it a year. At the end of 5 years from purchase you would have a 6 year old truck with 53k on it. If you scooped up an 18 after 5 years of ownership you would have 53k on a 5 year old truck. From that standpoint would the value of the newer model year outweigh the lower perceived mileage of the older truck?

That is an interesting question. I would think the state/location you lived in would play some factor in the value of the vehicle. A newer vehicle would likely always be preferred to a buyer if the mileage came out the same. But I can't imagine the cost would be $10,000 in difference which is basically what I saved by going with the 17 over the 18 in rebates.

I can't wait to get mine though.. should be ready early next week for pick up (having catback and tint put on it before picking it up).

Surprised and disappointed to see Stone Blue Metallic go away, I think it's a very pretty color. I get compliments on mine all the time. Oh well, go figure.

If you're in the Houston area, might I recommend checking out Beck & Masten. I just picked up my 2018 Sierra Denali Ultimate in Mineral Metallic from Cody Dingman at B&M North last Tuesday. They had slightly better deals on the '17s but none left in that color which I refused to budge on. Ended up walking out with one for a little over 10k off sticker, I was able to justify that as covering the difference between the year and milage later on down the road..

Just looked it up on KBB.com. 5 and 6 year old GMC Denali prices are about $2100 different. Private party sell of a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Crewcab in EXCELLENT condition is at $31986 while a 2011 is at $29823. So if you'd save more than $2100 buying a 17 vs an 18 chances are you'd save money overall if you were to sell in 5 years

Dang... Man I went to Beck and Masten South to check out the 18's and they didn't even budge on pricing. I even told them I was paying in cash and they still wouldn't move and the guy was kind of a dick head. So I took my business elsewhere and settled on the 17 with $10k in rebates off of invoice price. I had to wait a little while until it was delivered from out of state but I feel I got a good deal.

That's the color of my truck and I find the same thing. :)

You can still get the G1K blue if you buy anything other than a Denali.... :(
