Gm gives our 2500hd 6.0 a 14k tow rating. We tow a 5th wheel that weighs right about 12.5k loaded. Over Donner or echo we can hold 45-55 at 5k rpm or so. She just sings at that rpm and the first half of the truck looks like it has orange neon under glow at night as the manifolds and cat set all the way to the y pipe glow brightly.

Our first camper was a born free. That was in 1974 my family was into showing horses. It slid into a 73 Ford 1 ton and had its own back axle, slept 6. After the first trip the 390 engine was treated to a high rise, 735 holly carb and long tube headers. We rebuilt that set up several times into the early 90s.
