Yes, you can feel the difference almost instantly when you turn the dial back to 2wd. I did it a little late on that run, usually try to do it at the top of first. It just releases the clutch to the front, not harmful to the system.

SILVER SLED Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 After all that about intakes, I thought for sure you'd have one. Lol. Video seemed loud in cabin for stock intake and exhaust. Nice run.

Built motors, turbos, trans, suspension, everything, left me broke with incredibly unreliable cars. I’m super cheap now. will probably add bilsteins and then an intake though eventually

Interesting, I have been wary of doing this because I don't want to break anything. As the 6.2 owners out there know, anything over 1/2 throttle off the line will blow the tires off, and trying to roll on usually has the transmission shifting into 2nd before you can get the pedal down..
GMC-AT Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I like the Airaid Jr..keeps the stock air box. I have a double cab as well with the 6.2. And black bear tune. It flysSent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Theres guys that run 11’s that launch like that. Our drivetrains are beefy.

Full airaid made a lot of power, not sure if you can just buy the box.
TJay74 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I've done the 4wd launch before in my truck, right at 5.0 flat for 0-60 is where it is at. Wifes little Audi SQ5 with 450hp is neck and neck at the 0-60 but then walks away from my truck. Must be the 43xxlbs versus the trucks 55xxlbs. My toy car is 37xxlbs and has 455rwhp, the best I have got the 0-60 on it is 4.0 flat.

I had no idea it was going to be that quick when I bought it. Numbers are one thing, driving it is another. No it’s not fast after 60, but I mean in real world street driving 0-60 is king. The truck feels like a complete animal from a traffic light. You’d need a seriously fast car to keep up in race from a stoplight. Most fast rwd cars have trouble hooking on the road. I also have a coyote mustang. If I had to bet money on a stoplight race for like 500ft on a public road, I’d grab the truck. disclaimer- i dont stoplight race a lot lol, just using it as an example to describe the on-street performance.

I used to routinely destroy 11-12 second Fox bodied mustangs on the street with my non-intercooled, 13-second Grand National way back when. Not even the fastest exotics could keep up with my '86 Grand National that would run 0-60 in 3.9 seconds on the dirtiest road from idle and 3.7 with a light power brake launch. Traction was and is the key and of course a better reaction time! Another word about BlackBear. My truck now makes 302 rear wheel horsepower and all I had done was a mild tune by Justin of BlackBear. Justin would tune it and I'd ask him to tone it down. Still the truck just keeps running better and better. The horsepower was calculated by using the forumula to calculate effective RWHP through the traps at the end of a 1/4 mile run. Factory flywheel rating is 310 hp. Not sure how much is lost through the transmission, transfer case and differential. I seem to remember that the old 200R4 took 28 horsepower and the Turbo 400 was in the 40s. Anyhow, these Gen V motors are even more impressive power wise, enjoy them fellas!
Skidsareforkids Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 On a side note, it seems my tuned 6.2 with Corsa exhaust and level will crack an indicated 150mph [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
L86 All Terrain Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 What size tires are you running? I can brake boost mine in 2wd with TC off and it will chirp them all the way through 1st but wont outright break loose. I have 33x12.5's though so it is a lot of rubber on the road. You seem to be in the 5 seconds flat range. My time only works out to about 6.5-7 sec with some spin so I will have to try 4x4 when the winter sand is off the road and my truck is out of hibernation. My only mods are the huge boots that are about 15lbs heavier per corner and an AFE intake.
