Understood. I can see how that would work. I’m passively looking at something along these lines and didn’t want to go with more bags.

Cowpie seems to be pleased with his SumoSprings.

If I hadn't bought Timbrens, way back when; I would have bought SumoSprings because I wanted a set and forget load handling system (airbags were out). But when I was in the market, I read some people claiming issues with the SumoSprings splitting under load, which turned me off of them...that was several years ago, and I haven't heard one negative thing about them since.

After owning pretty much some version of load handling system or another over the years, airbags from here out for me. They have their issues, but are liveable.

They make two versions of the hellwig, one is "progressive" and is not supposed to impact ride much.

I believe I had the non progressive (cheaper) set. Again it was great when I had weight in the bed or a trailer in tow. But the occasional landscaping use around the house didn’t justify the daily ride comfort on dirt roads.

Fully understand that, that's why my Timbrens are sitting on a shelf.

2017 Max Tow dbl cab.  Installed firestone airbags for pulling camper.  I load 4 - 60 lb sand bags when empty to help smooth ride. Airbags run 5 lbs empty.  Makes it ride much better and helps traction in the rainey  winters. But max tow rear suspension has a bit of a harsher ride when empty imo.
