Have a oil leak I can’t see

Hello, my name is Gary. I have a 02 suburban. I’ve had a nasty oil leak since I bought it. It has 241,000 miles on it. I thought it might of been the oil pan gasket so I replaced it. Well once I replaced it i cranked the motor and noticed it was dripping down from behind the motor. I will admit I’m no mechanic. Certain things I do try to do myself before taking it to a shop. I inspected the valve cover gaskets. I didn’t see any signs of a leak but I couldn’t really see at the back. Anyone have any ideas?? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure on the '02's, but in prior years there was an oil pressure sending unit right on the back of the block, near where the distributor used to be. The sending unit or the pipe could leak there.

Another leak point is where the intake manifold meets the block in that same area, above the flywheel.

When you say "dripping down from behind the motor" do you mean around the outside of the engine/bellhousing, or from inside the bellhousing?  If it is not on the outside of the engine block on the rear, it may also be a rear main seal.

Oil sending unit, rear main seal, crankshaft sensor above starter

These since you took care of the oil pan gasket.  Mine started leaking as well.  It has been dry up till two weeks ago and it was a nice leak as in three drops every time I stopped the truck. Replace the oil pressure sensor since it looked wet from what I could see and it wasn't expensive and the oil pan gasket and it is still leaking.  So the next is the rear main and crank sensor.  Sucks to have to pull down all the 4x4 stuff along with the tranny but I can't complain with 177k on it and this is my first leak.  I'll change out the transmission front seal while it is down and easy to get to as well.

It may be easier to go the other way, and pull the engine.
