Remote start system

Hey guys my 2016 2500 Chevy is equipped for the factory remote start system. When I attach my boss super duty to the front and use the remote start the headlights on the plow frame come on. When I don't have the plow attached and I use remote start the truck headlights do not come on, only the parking lights. My question is, is it normal operation for the headlights on the plow frame to come on when the remote start is used

I say its normal as they tapped into your parking light power on the truck because if they tapped into the headlight power when you turn your headlights off with the blade on then your plow lights will go off to so they tapped the parking lights so your can turn the headlights off keeping the plow lights on so that's why there coming on when you remote start.

X2 to above. I don't have a plow, but sounds like power for plow lights is pulled from parking light circuit. Only my park lights come on with remote start.

It doesn’t help in the short run but I will check what mine does when I’m hooked up next time.

Only the top strip portion of the plow lights come on, I'm assuming these are the daytime running lights

I think the lightinh is goofy because the drl on the HD chevy is the same bulb as the headlight. The truck BCM just sends a lower voltage to the bulb for drl. The BOSS wiring harness and relay bank aren't to sophisticated, so I don't think that the plow lights can differentiate between a BCM drl or headlight command. I've used my plow so little that I can't really say for sure, but it's my best guess.

I spoke with the factory on this today. They advised me the top LED strip in the plow lights doubles as a daytime running lamp / marker light and is on whenever the trucks parking lights are on. Apparently the only way to make it go off would be to disconnect that portion

48 and sunny, so I thought that I would do an in depth research before jettisoning the BOSS to do some high speed runs.
