Autoanything has these exhausts on sale for 269, and they are rebranded Gibson catbacks. Can anyone attest to the longevity of the aluminized systems in the northeast? I don't want to waste my money if it will rust out in 2 years. I'm pretty good about keeping my truck clean in the winter, but I don't want create problems for myself by installing this exhaust. My other option I'm considering is just cutting out the stock muffler and flapper and installing a magnaflow like it did on my 2010. Open to suggestions.

Aluminized is very popular on diesels.. I had a aluminum mbrp on my duramax for 6 years and it still looked great.. I live in sd also with harsh winter and lots of salt

If you live in a nice mainly dry climate like here in Deep South Texas aluminized will hold up great.  Other posters have reported  as little as 2-3 years in climates such as Michigan and similar.

If its aluminized stainless, that's what the factory systems are made of.  Full stainless will have the best life.  If its aluminized steel, it will last a few years.

If it's for the 17, and if you're running the stock exhaust,  I'd be waiting it actually needs one.

My experience in the salt has been that the original exhaust always lasts much longer than any aftermarket replacement.

Good chance you won't have the truck when it needs replacing.

After 3-4 yrs, rust will bleed through on aluminized no matter where you live.  I've always felt its disposable.
