I bought my truck used with 65,000 miles on it. The engine light came on and i took it back to TrucksOnly(tm) and they sent it to Chevy dealership because it was "under warranty". After 2 months of being in the shop, i was told 3 injectors need replacing, costing $1300. I had to pay for it myself. Check engine light read "cylinder 2 misfire". At this point, from reading other reviews, I'm thinking the dealer wants you to pay to look deeper into the engines so that the warranty doesnt have to. So common to have 3 "injectors replaced" among other vehicles. This should be a vehicle defect and we should have our refund by Chevy!!

I had same issue.  3 bad injectors, said flow insufficient.  Cost me $1700+ for repair.  This was at just over 40K.   Warranty did NOT cover it.  The entire experience with the dealership, GM and this vehicle has made me not want to have another.

Same here!!! They're really playing(****ing over) the customers for their defective vehicle!

these engines are direct injected. they have known injector failures, i have replaced alot of these injectors. its not only on the trucks, but other direct injected engines like the 3.6 in the enclave and acadia. they can preform an injector balance test and pinpoint what injector(s) are bad. its typically about 5 hrs labor plus +injectors + seal kit+ high pressure fuel lines.

Ya’ll may want to try this first. I went down and purchased a couple bottles of Seafoam and another bottle of injector cleaner from Autozone. Ran one tank of the highest octane I could get, with the two bottles of Seafoam, and another tank with the highest octane, and the remaining bottle. I also purchased a whole new set of spark plugs while I was there. After running all the cleaners through, I had a friend clear the code for me, and I swapped out all of the spark plugs. Truck runs great now and haven’t had the light come back on.

Same issue on my 2017 1500 LT, leveling kit and oversized tires. Engine light came on, took it in. Replaced #2 and #7 injectors. Light came back on next day. Replaced O2 sensor, 1 of 4. Light came back on next day. They've had my truck for a week now, they're checking to see if one of the new injectors was faulty. Luckily all under warranty, so far.

i would file a complaint GM Corporate on that repair, the injectors are part of the engine and thus should be covered under the 5yr / 60k mile powertrain warranty.

It is not covered under the power train warranty and GM has already stated this. What GM has done and I think some people have received it like I did, was send out a letter that the truck might have faulty injectors and that part is being given an extended warranty to 150k miles.

Just got this diagnosis today on my truck. 2015 GMC Sierra 6.2. They said all injectors were bad at 44k miles with cylinder 6 being the worst.  Quoted me $2600 for the job. Spoke with my independent shop and their outlook wasn't much better. They couldn't even find the parts for this direct inject engine (GM strike).  Called the dealer back and they said GM was going to cover 50% of the cost under GM assurance. If anyone else has this problem ask about that.

Eff that, $2600 is some serious up charge. The injectors are only around $65 each and are not that hard to change. I can have the intake manifold off in less than 30 minutes and the injectors changed out in an hour. The only other thing you might need would be the 2 hard line fuel cross over pipes and the intake manifold gaskets. All in parts should be less than $500 and no more than 3-4 hours of labor.

Any shop (mom/pop or dealership) should be more than capable to do this work, I have done it in my garage several times now.

That is about the right price for the dealership. At least they are saying they are all bad and not like a lot of people that had to keep going back and get couple done at a time. Since they are saying they are all bad see if they will look at the condition of the in tank fuel pump to see if it is falling apart and sending contaminates through the system.

It could be all kinds of things, from

-incompetent diagnosis

-bad fuel injectors

-bad fuel

-bad fuel lines

-bad fuel pump

Have the dealer take a look at the in tank fuel pump. I was there when they pulled my out and it was falling apart. Contaniments end up in the whole system and messes up injectors and high pressure fuel pump. Mine wasn't the first one to be like this they had to deal with. So now when injector is a problem it's the first part they check as part of diagnosing. My fuel pump, high pressure pump, rails, and injectors all replaced. My warranty covered it all.
