Thin blue line flag in courtroom

First let me say that I back the police! They are our best hope for protection although I CCW when not at work. 

Was recently in a courtroom, lady justice behind the judge, and opposite the jury is a flag with a thin blue line. 

Isn’t that pro-police?

Surprised that a thin blue line flag is in a courtroom because as far as I know it's not an official country/state/city/etc. flag.

That said the flag is pro-police but not pro individual officer. Meaning as a whole we support the people who put their lives on the line to protect us, same goes for fire, ems, military while not showing support for any individual. The state employs police, and as a whole a large part of the justice system relies on the police. I don't see anything wrong with our office supporting the people they employ.

Although in todays always offended culture I wouldn't be surprised if someone claims mental trauma from seeing the flag.

Yep.   I’d be mentally traumatized if the court DIDNT openly proclaim support. 

 

Actually, aren’t policemen (when performing official duties) actually agents of the court/judicial system?   That may not be the right word.

Right on!!! I back the blue as well. My brother from another mother is a police officer! 100% Respect to any and all.
