Shocks info needed

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but I pulled the trigger on the rough country 5”/4”suspension lift (2wd) without shocks. I’m trying to see what shocks would work well with this lift. I’m leaning toward bilsteins but with the 4in rear blocks do I need a shock 2 inches longer then stock?  Would the 5100s work for the fronts or might be something better?

Yes, you definitely need longer rear shocks.  If looking for Bilsteins, I really liked 25-187717, they're 5165's (which are a pretty big step up from 5100's) that are 2.5" longer than stock.  You need to install the proper bushings to bolt up to these trucks.  I've actually got a pair with the proper bushings I've been planning to sell if you are looking for a deal.  I've also got a new in the box set of BDS Nitro rear shocks that came with my 4" lift if you want something cheap.

As for the front, I'm not familiar with your lift but if it uses a spacer your stock shocks or any stock replacement shock should work.  I do also have the BDS front shocks that wouldn't require using a spacer (came with my 4" lift) if you wanted to get rid of that.  I need to clear out the garage....

I’d go with some front coil overs that are lift specific (extended strut for 4-5” lift)...Fox, King, Icon, or Bilstein.

For the rear, just some struts that are compatible with your lift. They make Fox 2.0s for a lifted truck. Better bang for your buck.

Especially since you went with RC over BDS/Zone.

I’m probably gonna just do the bilsteins coil overs for the front at some point. Looks like I’ll be getting the bilstein rear shocks from here from Jon A.  So getting the front bilsteins to match will be nice
