Can I level my 4WD by lowering the rear?

Hi everyone. New member here... I did some searching before posting this, but I guess I'm not sure if I found an answer yet.

I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 SLE 4WD. All stock right now. I am wanting to level my truck , but wondering if its possible to lower the rear instead of raising the front? Idont tow or haul anything really. I do however haul the parents around. LOL

ANY help or advice would be appreciated.

TIA.

You are going at it the right way. You can remove the spacer between axle and springs. Show us your results when done.

Really? Will it change the driveshaft angle? And, would removing them bring it even with the front? What advantage do the lowering shackles have (if any)? I just found them on Rough Country and was thinking about going that route.

Lots of guys lower their trucks by removing the blocks... I don't believe it really changes the drive shaft angle much if any? I thought about doing that with my truck but, I tow / haul often enough where it wouldn't be the best thing for me to do...

Remove the 1.25" blocks. There are several places to by buy 1.5-2" drop shackles. Sulastic has a 1.5 for example. Bell has one too.  I believe if you measure axle center to wheel openings you will find the rear about 3" and change higher. Pinion angle should be checked but most of the time it is still fine. It will add some castor to the front end so an alignment check at minimum would be a good idea.

I pulled the blocks and use a 2" drop leaf with Sulastic hangers and needed zero pinion wedge.
