Wow! Jimmy Buffett

Jimmy Buffett performed in my hometown tonight, in a theater that seats about 1000 (including the balcony).    My wife and I and two friends sat on row 6.  There was some local criticism because tickets were just over $100 each and they sold out in 6 minutes.   

 

Trenendous show.  No junk, just the favorites in familiar arrangements with some fabulous musicians.   

 

I didnt drink a margarita while I was there, but did come home and made a boat drink.  (Rum)

Got to meet him in person 25 years ago when he played here at Fiddlers Green in Colorado.  Got my photo taken with him as part of the sheriff's department detail that escorted him to his private plane at Centennial Airport afterwords.  Sadly, someone stole that photo off of the bulletin board it was on.  He is a great classy guy, was very appreciative to law enforcement and said a bunch of other nice things before his personal security officer ushered him onto his plane for departure to his next location on his tour.  Love his music.  Stopped by and had dinner with my then GF a few years back at the Margaritaville resturant at Universal Orlando.  Good food.  (and drinks)
