Dented Front Bumper

I checked and my policy with Progressive does cover it but I have it set at a $500 deductible. So one way or another I'm paying for it, no dent removal service can handle a steel bumper so I've gotta find a body shop to handle it.
What year is your truck?

I just did a quick Google search for 2015 and looked for no fog lights. Between 100 - 200 for the chrome piece. Damage doesn't look bad enough that you can't just swap the pieces out.04aa42ee64687339724ebe0cdecb96e9.jpg

I had a similar situation with my last truck and went to three different body shops.  The person who hit me didn't hit and run and wanted to pay cash.  I found significant price differences and options between shops.  They also will reacted differently to a cash claim vs an insured claim.  If you can go through insurance without increasing your future premium do it and  go with a new oem bumper.

Have you ever swapped one of these out?

I've replaced bumpers. It's not that hard.... The hardest part is making sure everything lines up, and in your case, that shouldn't be an issue. There are lots of YouTube videos on our bumpers, I was looking at them because a friend likes my front end set up. I have an extra piece of chrome where he has black plastic.

First look up how to remove the bumper of your truck on YouTube. Then look up the diff bumper options for a replacement. Then decide if it's something you want to do. You may even find yourself doing an upgrade, like a better bumper or fog lights!

I haven't.  If you have a lease you'll probably have to use oem parts. If you choose to buy it, you'll be glad you used oem parts.  Your insurance deductible is probably the best deal you'll find as long as you don't get a rate increase!

like i said before just buy a new bumper and replace it its cheap and easy.

If your turning it back in try find a used one/take off on CL locally or check with local body shops/ truck accessory shops since it’s a non fog bumper they might have one for cheap from one they upgraded. Friday afternoons with cash in pocket seems to be a good time to “shop” at these shops at least around here seems like the owners like to put a little more cash in their pockets for the weekend.

What’s it cost if you turn it back in like that? Might not be worth messing with?

Some states and/or insurance policies have a no fault (not our problem) clause when it comes to parking lots something eles to ask the insurance agent about when renewing policies...

(as if we needed another thing)

If that was my bumper I'd pay a mobile paitless dent remover $100 to get rid of it. They'll come to your work and pull it right out. I had a guy come to my office and about 6 other co-workers saw and wanted their dents pulled as well. Ended up getting mine for free!

I wanted to go that route but I keep being told a steel bumper is too thick for mobile dent removal.

Call a local company and ask!  This would be good information for all of us as this is a common issue.

I actually did check with a few of our dent guys here at the dealership I work at, and yeah the verdict is they're too thick for that.

Bumpershellz I’d say is your best bet if you don’t replace.

I know this sounds crazy, but I have heard that you can remove dents with dry ice. You hold it to the dent for a bit, and it causes the metal to contract. There is lots of info about it on Google.
