Dented Front Bumper

Came outside this morning and found this. :fume:

Any one have any suggestions on how to fix this myself or what I'd be looking at to fix it professionally? I'd like to just handle it myself and not go through insurance.

Uninsured motorist.... My insurance covers it with no deductible and no penalty (as should yours)! I wish every accident I was involved in was a hit and run! Lol

Call your insurance and ask what your uninsured motorist coverage is!

Either paintless or pull it off and whack it a few times from the back with a hammer. Wife had an angry dent from so hit n run door dinging **** I never thought would come out. $125 to mobile pdr service, and you cant even tell. Check it on you tube - interesting stuff...

Any security cameras in that lot? Or facing it from another building? Odds are if it’s a apartment/business lot the vehicle that hit it will be there again at some point.

If you end up replacing the bumper would be the time to upgrade to color matched and/or fogs.

I’ve never priced them but Bumpershellz might be cheaper than a new replacement and/or easier than a used replacement.

Looks like your about due for a set of tires be careful driving around on those at highway speed would hate to see you have even more damage from a blow out.

14-15 silvy front bumpershellz with no fogs/no sensors retail for about 200-295 depending on color. They'll take care of OP's dent though!!

Thanks everyone, really helpful info here. I'm going to call my insurance company and see if I can get it handled by uninsured motorist. It's a lease so I have full coverage on it.

I know the tires gotta go, my lease is up soon and I'm not sure if I'm buying it out as originally planned or if I can get into a new Colorado ZR2. One way or another I'll have new tires soon.

Uninsured motorist doesn't typically cover stuff like this as you have no proof that the other driver had no insurance.

There is no other driver, that is what uninsured motorist coverage is for! It gets used more for hit and runs then for people driving without insurance. Do you know why? Because people driving without insurance hit... And run...

Not always, see the quote below taken from here...

https://www.allstate.com/tools-and-resources/car-insurance/hit-and-run.aspx

Uninsured motorist property damage coverage helps pay for repairs if your car is damaged by another driver without insurance. In some cases, it may help pay for damage after a hit-and-run.

However, uninsured motorist property damage coverage isn’t available in all states. And in some states where it is available, uninsured motorist property damage does not cover hit-and-run accidents, according to the Insurance Information Institute. If you’re unsure what your policy covers, talk to your insurance agent.

Uninsured motorist property damage coverage typically has a deductible.

You are right... Some state have stupid laws! Maryland has a no fault law where they can find neither motorist is at fault, then you both have to pay. That being said, if the op does live in a ****ed up state, his insurance will cover it! Always call your insurance to see what the coverage is, the phone call doesn't cost a thing!

Take off the bumper, use a torch to heat it up making sure you don’t hold the torch at one spot and while moving it around in a circular motion, bang it out

my guess is insurance isn't going to do anything without a deductible.

I was hit by and uninsured driver and I had to pay my deductible. The insurance worked out a payment plan with the uninsured driver to pay me and the insurance company back.

idk about PDR or the cost, buying a new bumper and replacing it yourself might be the cheapest/best option.

I checked and my policy with Progressive does cover it but I have it set at a $500 deductible. So one way or another I'm paying for it. No dent removal service can handle a steel bumper so I've gotta find a body shop to handle it.
