I was also tempted and gave in to a 2018 black double cab, LT, Texas edition. MSRP was 42,360. I got it for 30k flat. Not including TTL of course. Also got kbb trade value on my suv which I was happy with since they are usually high compared to anything a dealer uses. 4 miles on the odo, drove it home yesterday and loving it.

Edit: Congrats to OP, I wanted a Z71 with body colored bumpers / grill but couldn't afford a penny more, especially since finance rates seem to be going up.

That is an excellent price and congrats on the truck. What does the Texas edition have in it over some of the other ones. Mine is an All-Star edition. Enjoy the new truck, you will be loving it.

It's crazy how expensive these damn trucks can get. I have a few less features than what I had in my Colorado, but its what I was able to afford in the Silverado so I can live without some of that stuff.

Is that a lift or a 2” level and how do you like the Nitto trail grapplers on road manners, noisy, vibrate at high speeds?

I have a 3" level.  I have no problems with the road noise, they're not too loud but if I could I would go with the Ridge grapplers.  I hear those are great tires, quite and you'll get more miles out of them.  Here's a pic of the truck so you can get a better view of the level.

Ok, just ordered some replacement wheels with a better offset allowing larger tires and getting rid of the KO2’s 275/60/20’s replacing with Ridge Grapplers 285/60/20’s cause they won’t stop vibrating at 75+ even after 5 road force balancing efforts. Think they’re -1 offset, nuts I forgot!

Ok, Definitely +1 offset

Why would you want an 18 with the same Crappy (works as designed) 8-speed transmission? Don't be a victim of buyers remorse. And yes, the dealer will pay off you $26K Colorado but that's not the whole picture is it? How much are they giving you for it, and what is being rolled over on your new truck?

17-20% off on a new truck is in fact a decent deal that GM frequently do. When I purchased my 17 Sierra, GM did 17% and the dealer did 3%. I was happy to pay $45K for a CC 4x4 SLT w/SLT Premium plus package. If you are set on that 8-spd you may want to wait, the closer to the release of the 19 model the higher incentives go up.

Yes I've sold Chevrolet/Cadillac so I know just a little on how this works. GL with your decision!!

If you are referring to me, the deal is done and I bought the 2018 earlier in the week. I wasn't interested in getting a 2019 and would have waited 2-3 years at that point till the new Silverado design was more mature. I don't think there is anything wrong with getting a 2018 if you can get a decent deal. They only rolled over about $400 from the Colorado, I couldn't get them to pay it off completely even though I tried very hard.

Just like my Colorado, I bought it and then the next year they change the trans and a few other things. It's a no-win situation with any vehicle, there is always something new around the corner.

Ok well congrats on your new truck, and $400 is not a big deal to roll over. I've seen and done much worse.

Thanks! I learned my lesson years ago with rolling over a ton of negative equity, its never a good thing.

Hello.  The prices got me.  I traded in my 2015 Corvette for a new 2018 Silverado Crew Cab. Got a great deal from my local dealer and a fair trade.  Sticker was $53,380, and I ended up paying $39,700.  Looking forward to being a member on this Forum.  I had over 12 years on the Corvette Forum.
