2007 Sierra with AFM Lifter stuck, options?

Ok, I bought a 2007 GMC sierra with the 5.3 Vin J at auction.  I got it cheap but it was throwing engine code Po306 No 6 Cylinder misfire.  Tried swapping the plug, wire, and coil to another cylinder and it didn't follow.  Did a compression check and that cylinder is dead.

So without taking off the valve cover, but I would do before I did a tear down.  I'm pretty certain that Active fuel management lifter is stuck .

So this is my dilemma.  It has 207,000 miles.  The body is nice and you can tell it was highway miles as the guy was an over the road contractor.  The oil pressure is good.  The compression on the rest of the cylinders is a fuzz weak.  All are in the 120ish range.

So I see three options

1)  Just take off the heads in the truck and just do the lifter swap, and pray the cam isn't toast.  It's till probably a fuzz less than 500 to do this as those AFM lifters are expensive.  But then I wonder why I'm putting that much money into a 5.3 with 207,000 miles.

2)  Find a junkyard 5.3.   But all I find with that AFM crap are 1500 to 2000 with 125k miles or more and the AFM on them can go out at anytime as well.  I don't think I can put in an 2006 or earlier Gen 3 LS motor which are a lot cheaper.  Those you can find for less than a grand.

3)  But a reman engine.  I can get a long block for $2800 with a 3 yr warranty.

4)  Take the engine out of mine now and take it to the local Machine shop and have them rebuild it.  I think they would would be less than 1500 for a rebuild, but it's probably a 3 month wait as they are slow.

What do you guys think?

Add another option:

5.Rebuild it yourself. Take block and heads machine shop for re-work
