Was considering replacing the mirrors on my 18 sierra 1500 denali with the tow style mirrors that I think would go with the lift etc. that i'm just wrapping up. Any input, pictures, suggestions would be appreciated.

I was playing around with switching mirrors until I read some posts on here/concerns over some functionality loss I could not confirm. What held me up was trying to find answer on auto fold and dimming driver mirror, just something to consider based on the mirror you install.

If you decide to go with a factory tow mirror upgrade this thread is where you’ll want to start. IMO the way to go if your wanting to retain all the features of your current mirrors. Used and new take offs can be found online from time to time guys swapping the other way.

If you have any questions/concerns about this upgrade, let me know. I’ve done this 1000+ Times. If you have key fob fold now, you can retain that. There are NO tow mirrors out there that Support driver side Dimming (like you would have if you have DL3 Mirrors) so you will lost that if you upgrade to Tow Mirrors.

I like the look of these ones, but need to investigate more, as there seem to be endless variations...

If you have power fold mirrors with turn signals now, you DON’T want these as they are Manual Fold and don’t support mirror memory.

Yeah I have the power fold mirrors, and I've seen some on Amazon for a few hundred, obviously the ones that still power fold cost more, assuming they retain that functionality, but I'm also concerned over difficulty of install, so mirrors that could fold since my current ones do, and something DIY would be good

Here is my video on the actual process of swapping mirrors and harnesses.

If you DIY, you’ll save $ over going to the dealer. OEM - Power Fold Mirrors will cost more over an aftermarket set. $1058 for power Fold OEM Mirrors vs ~$500 for power Fold aftermarket mirrors.

Harnesses will run $285 -$310 (but I refund $100 when you send me your Factory set). DIY Kit (made so that you modify you own harnesses is $65-$90).

To retain power fold and most of the features you have now, these are your two options.

GM = DQS Mirrors
Aftermarket = 1A Auto/AM Auto (one specific model)

Any other mirror and you lose Power Fold and Memory.

Let me know if you need any other info.

You’re a wealth of knowledge sir, thank you very much! After trawling through the other thread, I think I’m going to save up my pennies a little longer and go the aftermarket route from 1A like your video. When the time comes I’ll be hitting you up for a harness.
Thanks again

In your video, you use part #1amrp01786, 1A has another set of these mirrors under part #TRMRP00045 that are listed for 2500's, but maybe my reading comprehension isn't the best, but what is the difference? I have a 2017 1500 with DL3's and want to upgrade to tows.
