4" lift BDS or FabTech Please chime in...

I wouldn't say I go offroad in my truck a lot, but it does go down some dirt/rocky trails at the deer lease. That being said, 1 of my front stock Ranchos went out at 15k miles on my 17. Dealer replaced it so it wasn't a big deal. Then the other side went out at 20k miles. So instead of replacing them with Ranchos again I went with the Bilsteins on all 4 corners. This was literally the most noticeable mod I've done to the truck. The truck rides so much better than it did with the Ranchos. Feels more planted to the road and in turns it doesn't feel like there's as much body roll as before. You might not be able to tell the difference if you add them at the same time your lift is installed because the truck is going to ride different regardless. If you add them later on you'll be able to tell. If you have the extra $$ I'd say have them installed while everything's out anyway.

One main difference b/t fab and bds/zone is the fab lift kit will maintain your stock front track width.  Bds/zone push out your front track width, so you'll probably want to get spacers in the rear to even things out.  Not saying one is superior over the other, but thought I'd point it out.

Well... there is ALWAYS something that I didn't know!  And this would be it!   the 20x10 wheels stick out in the front like a pissed off high school teenager and like most adults, I do NOT like it!

 

I'm out 2 full inches beyond the fender.  No good no good!   I do not like it at all.   

 

First solution is to change the two front wheels to 20x9 +1 which would tuck it back up under there an inch and would match the back.  I"m good with the back but the front looks ridiculous to me as described.   

 

I'm searching for 20x9 +1  Fuel savage Black and Milled with black ring now.  UGhhhhhh!

Why don’t you just add another 1 3/4” Bora spacer in the rear just to compensate?

Because I do not like the 2" outside the front fenders.  It looks ridiculous to me!  Ughhh... I'm very frustrated with this and hopefully can get it corrected with a 9" wheel.

Sorry you’re going through all this, it’s not going to matter much because you’ve replaced your factory knuckles with new ones that push your wheel tire setup out. You can’t just buy two 9” wheels up front first of all how would you rotate. You’re stuck with it but when served lemons make lemonade. Add painted to match side fenders and bora spacers and you’ll be all good.

Thank you all for your support....  As time goes on and I continue to see it, it's getting better (a LITTLE).  I still don't like it outside THAT much.  Talked to a few more peeps and they say the 9" wheel will bring it in some just by default due to the less of an in in the wheel that won't be there.    I don't mind it sticking out and like the aggressive stance with that, but 2 FULL inches out is just that "bit" too much for me.   I'll know more options Monday for sure.

You’re very welcome, I’m a way, you’re sorta experiencing what I’ve been contemplating on lift. Good looking truck, I fully understand what you’re saying. If you can try and get them to swap out just the wheels for 9” but, you’re still going to have the front wheels stick out more than the rears being the front knuckles were replaced. The Bora spacers are the best and absolutely safe being they’re bolted into your existing studs and having their own bolts come out where your rear wheels will bolt onto. Relax, you’re making this a fun build. Btw, hows the ride quality compared to before?

Oh man! The ride quality is at LEAST 10 times BETTER than before!  It rides AMAZING!  like a damn car almost!  Smooth, sweet and soft just like I wanted.  The ride is GREAT!

Did you go from a 2” level into a 6” lift, the BDS lift?

Should of looked into the CST 4 1/2"  bracket lift, no change in front track width. Super high quality lift. Had the 4" on my NNBS and will run the new 4 1/2" on my 18 when I'm ready to lift it
