Level and wheels

I have a 16 Silverado LT crew cab and I’m about to take off my 18s for 20s. What size leveling kit do I need just for the front to make it level but to also have room for the 20s. I either want Lt 275 55 20 or Lt 285 55 20. But I’m not sure if I should go with a 2” 2.5” or a 3” level.

In my option the answer is yes. Get a adjustable front kit. You can add or subtract by 1/2" and I believe it is better then spacers jammed up under the shock mount.

Hey Steven...

For simple example, got rid of factory 275/55/20 SRA's on my 16 RCSB and upsized to 285/55/20 BFG K02's with a bit of rubbing on front..

 

Installed front 2" Strut Lift / Level and now zero rubbing....

Be prepared to do front end alignment after lift-kit..

Your ride will be worse with 20" wheels. You really should consider keeping a 18" wheel.  I have the factory 20" wheels on mine and I like the wheels but when you put an LT tire on or run a lower profile tire,  the lower sidewall really affects ride comfort.  If I didn't have a spare wheel that matched my other wheels, I might consider another set of wheels when I replace tires.

I have a similar issue but my truck has factory 22's , i have 3 inch front 2 inch rear level kit with a diff drop, my stock tires are 285 45 22, which are nearly a 32 (i belive) id like to go to a 33 or metric equivelant either all season or at/mt hybrid, i dont wanna go wider as my tires already rub at full lock, but i want biggest i can fit, please someone advise largest tire i can run even if i hafta run a small wheel spacer

275/55/20 is stock size for 20's. Don't need a level for those. There are also numerous reports of people running 275/60/20 at stock height with no rubbing. 

 

Depends on offset of wheels. If you level, stock wheels and tires may rub. Mine did at 275/60/20 on stock 20's with bilstein 5100 at top height.
