1996 Chevy Kodiak single axle with 366 gas

I recently got me a 96 kodiak with 366 gas engine.  truck starts and idles good but a few minutes after started the check engine light will come on and then go off.  I can shut it off and start back and engine light is off, after a bit it comes back on.

What should I check?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
