Vacuum Reference on 6.2 for exhaust cutouts

I am looking to install a vacuum actuated exhaust cutout from loudvalves.com

https://loudvalves.com/collections/vacuum-activated-loudvalves/products/2-5-y-pipe-boost-activated-cutout-and-turndown?variant=32821518284

I just need to know where people would recommend tapping in to get the vacuum needed. I would really prefer a location after the TB but I don’t want to drill a hole in my manifold.

Also... need to confirm that I need the 3” version.

thanks for any help!

I don't have a clue where to tap into, but I would think if Loud Valves wanted to sell more of their product, they would have instructions on various models showing where one could tap into for the vacuum  line.  Maybe look on Youtube?

Best place in under the map sensor. ON3 sells a black bullet adapter. Then you can source any adapter or fitting you like. I would recommend quick connect air line with the right size npt. Like on mine it is a. 1/8npt.

This is it on my truck. It is bolted down with stock bolt then has a - 8an thread. You can also have a vacuum block or just get a 90* fitting with two1/8npt threads and let one go to the map(red label sensor in my Pic) and one to the source on exhaust.

Thank you! This sounds like a great solution.

Thanks for the picture. It doesn’t seem to show where the MAP is being secured or how it is being fed. Any chance you can take another one from a different angle?

Well I have a. Lot. More going on with the turbo. But so that line goes to a block with 6 ports in it. On the wiper crowl is the new setup. But before it was mounted off the fitting. More ports then you need.
You could just but a black 8an to threaded nipple then few inches of rubber hose to to map sensor. Mine map is just sitting there and same as all the boosted vehicles do. 1c0fdcfb07e558eb16960f7345c0a613.jpg39cb2af27a6e50a8c27d7f8191daca51.jpg

That makes a lot more sense. Thank you.

Basically, I’d just get this fitting and T off for my MAP and my cutouts. Actually doesn’t seem too difficult. Maybe even just a quick call to ON3 and they can just set me up with everything I need.

Nice setup, BTW. Why did you go turbo and not SC? How much power are you putting down?

There are male to male black fittings that have a small hole in the side then reduce the other side to 1/4 line. But you can ask ON3 what they have.

I like turbo more power and better drivability. I made over 600rwhp but broke some parts so new bigger turbo and more parts. With fuel system and cam 800 on a stock block is possible. Record on a 5.3 is over 850rwhp.

That’s awesome. I’m actually reading your build thread now.  Your truck is awesome and is actually very similar to mine. I wish I could have found a Crimson Red, but I really needed the 6.5 bed and wanted the 6.2. I ended up having to do a wrap for in 3M Dragon Fire Red. Granted, I’m going up and and off road and you are down and on the street, but definitely similar.

Very cool.

Hey @Z2Z did you ever complete the vacuum exhaust project? I'm planning on building something similar, but using a solenoid to control the vacuum when I want. Id love to see if you had good luck with the loudpipes valve!

I did semi finish it. It honestly did not work for me. I think there were a variety of factors that led to it not doing what I wanted. It would open up under even the slightest throttle input. I’m not sure if I had the wrong size or type of tubing, but it was a drone nightmare. It also didn’t sound very good even when it was open. The whole thing was very disappointing. I ended up just holding the valve closed with a bit of bailing wire. I really wish I could find an electric solution that opens and closes quickly.
