Sounds good n deep. How's it sound while cruising?btw what model is that resonator?
Model 1142

Cruising is quiet except 1800 rpm under load. Hit the gas and you hear it.

Thanks for the video and part numbers! How much did the resonator kill sounds? Or did it mostly just get rid of the drone?

I installed this same resonator on my truck.  I have Kooks Long Tubes and Corsa Sport.  The resonator brought it back to where it was without the long tubes, just the Corsa Sport.  Definitely quieter in those low rpm ranges and helped reduce drone, first thing I noticed. Definitely tackled the raspy concerns I had, this is probably the second thing I noticed.   When it switches into v4 it isn't as noticeable as it was before.  When I get on it at WOT it is still screaming loud.

For me, is there still drone, yes, but considerably less than without this resonator, absolutely.  Before the resonator the drone was unbearable to the point I was going to un-install the headers.

I would recommend this for anyone wanting to reduce noise or drone in an existing exhaust system.  However, if I had to do this all over again I would have just bought a touring muffler instead of the sport since I was also planning on doing headers.  If you aren't doing headers, then the sport is perfect.

Just an update on the Vibrant resonator. While the sound was great the quality is not. About a month after having it installed I noticed the metal ring around the edge was cracked in 2 places. It was disappointing but didn't affect it so I left it go. Jump to last week and the whole resonator and tip fell off. This is mostly the exhaust shops fault. The resonator inlet pipe tore off right after the weld. Vibrant did respond to my email and pointed out several issues with the shop so I'll give them credit for this. Had the shop added another bracket it would probably be fine. Unfortunately it fell off on the highway and a tractor trailer flattened it.

On a side note, the exhaust being cut off there has no drone and sounds better than before. Apparently the last 90 with the exhaust tip created the drone.

Makes you wonder how clean the weld was too. The factory exhaust isn't stainless like the vibrant resonator is so a dirty weld will make it rust much quicker.

I've run them on 2 different V8 trucks but they were placed before the factory muffler location so they never saw as much road spray and I painted all my welds. Both looked nearly new after 1-2 years still.

Yeah I thought that at first. Hard to tell from the pictures but there is stainless just outside of the weld. It's not the type of metal but the gauge if the resonator. I don't think the Vibrant can support itself and that's why it failed. Had it been supported after the resonator I would have been fine.

As mentioned above I no longer have a resonator and don't plan to add one back on. I had the exhaust shop dump the exhaust after the axle and there's no drone, even at 1700rpm cruising which was the worst before. 0da7d92dd31b3e437058be487fa480a8.jpgf8c7d5c94647e13dc9fe5401ea34840e.jpg
