2014 shocks

I have a ‘14 with a lift. I think it’s a zone 4.5. Anyway, my rear wheel wheel well measurememt is 42” and front is 43”. Does that sound about right?

i just noticed my rear shock was hanging by only the bottom mount. The shock is completely collapsed so I’m not going to attempt to reinstall it.

I habe two questions. Are most people still getting the 5100s or is there something better? Anyone have a part number or link for one with the correct length for my setup?

Also, anyone know the part number for the bolt and nut for the uppser connection? It’s gone.

Bilsteins are the most common and you should be able to get a bolt at any auto part store but I’d check with dealership parts department first and get it there. I believe they’re grade 8 strength.

If you’re looking for a more dampened performance shock id look at CST or King, double the price, very much worth it but depending on your budget, would work better if you did the fronts too other than that you’ll be safe with extended 5100’s.

Totally agree. Bills are cool for an alternative to stocks, but man i wish I had spent a bit more on something more comfy.

Thanks guys. I’ll look into them. I guess I just need shocks that are specified for 4 inches of lift? I hate to get some that are too short or long and waste a bunch of money

They’re specific to a 4”-5” lift and most suspension manufacturers have the exact fit for your truck. Something you really need to think about is your rear setup, whether you’re looking to possibly get another inch or two which WILL affect your shock purchase. Some people do decide on adding another inch with either adding a taller block or adding a add a leaf due to not wanting the squatting either by highway speeds or adding some weight in the bed of your truck. Bilstein extended 5100’s are a great starting platform which you can even install yourself within one hour. Most of the aftermarket shocks like CST and King as well as Fox have a specific valve tuning that exceeds Bilsteins in adding mid range stiffening meaning softer ride for normal driving then once you get more aggressive and shocks are going full dampening that’s when the custom tuned shocks tower over Bilsteins.

Do your research and ask a lot of questions with multiple off road companies that have been around a long time. A well designed shocks helps you want to keep your truck for a much longer period. And, Accutune is a great source to start and end at, Good luck
