Lots of things can cause a long crank time. Fuel pump is definitely one of them, but, did you test the power & ground to the pump prior to replacing it? What's the fuel pressure at?

If you still have low fuel pressure, you more than likely have a wiring issue to the pump, or to the FSCM (Fuel System Control Module - usually located above the spare tire). You'll need to verify you have power and ground getting to the pump itself, and if not, if you're getting power and ground to the FSCM.

Some other things that can cause a long crank time are worn spark plugs or bad plug wires, vacuum leaks, MAF reporting incorrect information to the PCM, bad fuel, or a stuck open EVAP purge valve just to name a few.

The FSCM is a common failure item on these trucks. It's not cheap ... and to add insult to injury, GM designed this thing to NOT work unless the computer is reflashed to accept the new part. Just more money flowing out of the wallet ...
