I just purchased a 2019 Silverado that has the safety package and blind spot monitoring in the mirrors. The driver side works well but almost half the time the passenger side doesn't light up yellow when cars pass by. Is this normal?

Doesn't sound normal. Seems to be working ok on my RST. I'll try to notice that closer.

It is not normal. You may want to speak to your dealer about maybe getting a sensor checked. Mine works great on the highway.  Sometimes it is a little overly sensitive as there will be no vehicle present but will detect other objects thinking a vehicle is there.

Mine has worked flawlessly thus far. It took me awhile to learn to trust them but they've been great.

Still wish they would have incorporated a small blind spot mirror into the assembly...I know my eyes work everytime.

Is your truck dirty? Maybe the sensors need to be cleaned off, I could be wrong but I am under the assumption the sensors used for the monitoring are the ones in the bumpers.

I have noticed on my suburban that if a pass someone fairly quick it won't light up. Not sure if it works the same on the new trucks.

I just bought a 2020 2500 silverado with the blind spot during the buying process when they took vehicle to wash they broke the passenger mirror they replaced it with another truck's mirror but is a basic with not the blind spot. When I noticed only driver side had it and told them. They said that the passenger side doesn't come with it? I thought blind spot package was for both mirrors.

You are correct, both mirrors carry the Blind Spot indicator.

Both indicators should be lit initially when the vehicle starts up. A vehicle approaching the sensor [located in the bumper step] should lite the indicator in it's respective mirror  within 16 ft from the mirror easily.

Welcome to the forum!  Are you talking about the electronic (LDW) or the little fish-eye insert? If it's the former then "they" need to be reported and if it's the latter they may be correct!

I always install 3" convex mirrors on every truck I buy.  I even covered the tiny driver's side factory convex on my 2016 with a 3".

David did the dealership find the issue with your passenger mirror? I have a 2020 Sierra SLT that has the same issues. The passenger mirror works great but the drivers side works intermittently. I have noticed basically anytime it rains the mirror on the driver's side will not work. Everytime I take it to the dealership it is dry and working. I have taken days off work to do it even on rainy days but the forecast ends up changing. The dealership is about useless here. I have several videos of the passenger side working and the drivers side not. Same at start up I have videos showing the drivers side mirror not lighting up when turning on. If someone has insight please help.
