my 2020 silverado at 200 miles got an airbag light the first time.  It happened when turning right.  Turns out it was resistance in the airbag coil that changed as the wheel was moved.  They changed it and now with 7k miles it broke again.  Also, anyone else having harsh shifting and shuddering from their trans?

Having same issues with 2018 Silverado. Took it to the dealership and they said it was the phone charger in the backseat near the floor. They “fixed” it and was fine for a couple of months. Did it again, took it back. This time they said the wiring harness under the drivers seat had come loose. Since I do have any active kid that sits behind me I believed them and payed the $350 to fix it. Now it’s doing it again. About to take it back, and there’s no way I’m paying this time!

Got my '21 2500 gas in July and have 2500 miles on it. Just got it a bunch of times today. Any update on the actual problem/fix?

I have a 2021 silverado and every time I go into a turn I get a pop up on my cluster that says service safety restraint system with air bad light then goes away or says reset.

Any info on this.

Just took mine in for the same thing. (service safety restraint system)   I have had the pickup 3 weeks.  2021. Sierra SLT.  Bought new.  Had around 500 miles on it.  Now have 700.   Was out of town when it first went off.   Very sporadic.   Contacted service department.

Took pickup in today.  Replacing air bag and harness.   Service writer, known him since he was born, said there was a recall or a SB but I have not found it yet.

Hi guys, I have an even larger issue with my 2020 Silverado.

1. Key fob does not lock/unlock doors, and will not start vehicle

2. TPMS service light stays on

3. Airbag light stays on, with Service passenger restraint system

This all happened at the same time. I had a complete stereo system installed, but kept the factory head unit, and everything was fine. Went back, got them to install a JL Audio DSP under the driver seat, and went home. The next morning I went to my truck and the fob wouldn't unlock the doors. I assumed it was a dead battery. Retrieved the other fob from the house and same thing. So I used the key, and as soon as it turned on, I got the TPMS and Airbag messages. I thought the audio shop may have done something, so I went back. He used his scan tool and the code it pulled had something to do with the driver side seatbelt tensioner. I have not taken it to the dealer yet, because I see that most of you end up without your truck for weeks at a time. This really really sucks!

I took my truck into dealer for this exact issue. Sometimes it would go off 5 times in 10 seconds. Sometimes not 5 times in 5 days. Dealer got truck - said it was front passenger seatbelt pre-tensioner.  They had to order and replace the whole seatbelt. Ok. Couple weeks waiting for it to arrive then get changed. Got that done. Happened again. Took it back to dealer - Dec 10th. I haven’t seen my truck since.

I am having the same problem with my 2019 Chevy Silverado. 37K miles, just out of bumper to bumper warranty.

Did You get any resolution to the light and warning dinging?

I do have an update. About 2 weeks ago, the DSP I had installed stopped talking to my laptop, and after talking to the JL Audio help line, it was determined that I needed to send it in for repair. I removed it, and didn't think anything of it until I drove to the store later and realized there were no faults on my dashboard. My key fob and TPMS worked again. Everything was great for a couple of days, then I drove over some railroad tracks, and the airbag light came on. Key fob and TPMS still work. The problem has to be the wiring under the carpet directly under the driver seat. Seriously, I can bang the carpet with my fist and make the airbag light go off and on. I'm ok with the light, as long as my keyless entry, remote start and TPMS work. I don't want to be without my truck for weeks waiting on a part.

Anyone else with this issue, try pressing on the carpet under the driver seat, that's where my issue is.

I baught a 2020 gmc terrain with 27,000 miles on it. The service safety restraint system light started going off every time I started vehicle.  I called dealer where I got it..they say its covered...shows it in carfax...gmc said no. Not covered.  I need to pay for a diagnosis from a certified gmc dealer and then pay to fix problem.  This is unacceptable considering this has been happening with their vehicles for several years.  When I asked if it could be a new recall they said only certain vehicles are included in that safety restraint system recall and my terrain isn't one of them
