There ate.many you.can get I have my own hptuner so it is just a box you click with the mouse on the computer and then write file to truck. But if that isn't for you there are can or box tune devices available as well. In fact there are many options and performance or mpg. And the prices are a few hundred to about a thousand.

Yet another AFM engine bites the dust.  And supposedly they had all of the problems worked out in 2011.  Except obviously they didn't.

A Range V8 module that plugs into the OBD2 port under your dash is the cheapest and easiest way to shut off AFM, unless you are looking to reprogram other operating parameters as well.  Then you would want a Blackbear tune or Hypertech or Diablo tuner.  The Range V8 module can be plugged in or removed any time the vehicle is shut off.  No, I don't work for Range.  Yes, I have used their V8 module and it works as advertised.

It is a mechanical engine of thousands of parts assembled by people, no matter what no one will ever have "all" the problems worked out. You will have rogue failures which in this case of all the trucks is probably less than 1%. Compared to the first gen failure are extremely rare. AFM works great here as well as other vehicles we or others I know have it in, some with lots of miles.

Keep drinking that GM kool-aid, Tyler.  Yes, some people get lucky.  Others of us are forced to drive the nightmares caused by the GM mistakes on a daily basis.  And before you tell me to switch makes, I'd gladly be in a Ram Rebel tomorrow, except not all of us are made out of $.  My down payment for a new truck keeps going into the Silverado just so I can keep it going to be able to drive to work to make $, which in turn is used to fix the Silverado.
