Better angles.  Its for 2 and 4wd both

Anytime you lift it much over 2 inches to improve/restore proper ball joint angle. Depending on design better durability, strength. Improved articulation (uni balls). better a-arm bushings. Clearance. rigidity. That's about it. Just they are not all created equal.

Some of  the cheaper ones out there are not as good as OEM. Dirt King, JBA off road, and Cognito are all on the higher end side, but are way more than say a rough country/ rancho. There are a lot of complaints out there for the lower end stuff. However things like Uni-balls are overkill for a lifted street truck and are high maintenance.

Do you need UCA’s with the BDS 4 inch coilover kit? I just bought the BDS kit but stuck with stock control arms? Any thoughts?

If you are not running Higher Coilovers or a full lift and such, UCA will be kind of useless

UCAs are meant to correct the camber/caster and droop of the suspension when its geometry is changed by a lift kit and so on.

If you buy a full well made lift kit, it should come with UCAs

I’m looking to have a variable ride height airbag suspension. I want to be able to drive in both a dropped and lifted state. Looking for about 4 to 6 inches of total movement. I’ve got the rear pretty well figured out.

As for the front, I’m not sure what UCAs (or other front end components) are needed to be able to run bag over struts in the front and achieve the level of variability I’m looking for.

I’ve seen one truck with a system similar to what I’m looking to do. It’s a Colorado and it had a 4-link in the back but I don’t have any details about the front.

Would uniball UCAs be able to accommodate this degree of movement? If anyone is familiar with a setup like this and can offer some guidance, I’d appreciate it.

Im still not understanding what you want. Do you want lowered and bagged or lifted and bagged?

Your question highlights my problem. I want it bagged with the ability to ride both lowered or lifted.

If stock ride height is the starting point, I want the ability to go down 2” from stock height or up 2” from stock height all in the same system. Total of 4” of travel.

Stock vehicles have more than 4" of travel. Its possible yes. But everything will be 1 off custom as no one makes that kit that i know of. For lowered yes. But not lifted
