Don't mean to rain on your parade but new shocks will not make a 3/4 ton truck ride like anything other than a 3/4 ton truck. The best way to improve your 2500's ride is to load up the bed and tow something big/heavy. That is what they were engineered to do.

People who contribute to threads only to state the obvious always amazes me. I know what the truck is designed for....we all know what the truck is designed for...we understand when we purchase said vehicle that it isn't going to behave or react the same way a lighter truck with less payload does. That's the nice thing about these forums, and especially this forum, is there are other people out there with the same truck and the same desire to delve into aftermarket products to improve certain aspects. I own a number of WORK vehicles and believe me I know what they are for. I'm just looking for a possible solution to a more comfortable ride when I am driving from jobsite to jobsite.

With that being said I have read through other forums with the same issues.  They suggested to back off the PSI in the tires.  67 was in the fronts and 71 in the backs.  Lowered to 50 in front and 55 in back.  I am finally not getting thrown all over the road, the ride is much more like what I am use to.

I never owned a 3/4 ton or higher load rated pickup but I had LT type tires on a half ton years ago and the tires max air pressure on the sidewall was listed as 80 psi.

I ran those tires first at 50 psi which provided a bouncy ride then changed to 40 psi - which felt right for the truck I had.

I know those tires had stiff sidewalls and I aired them back up when needed to 50 psi.  But I never ran them at 80 psi.

Just my experience.

Well I understand why you are amazed at my suggestion but what I find amazing is you state you can build/fix anything, have ridden in many 3/4 ton trucks, OWN many more and are knowledgeable of their design functions but the rudimentary aspect of proper tire inflation (of which you made no mention of) in relation to load being transported seems to have escaped you. I would however ask that you report back on the ride quality of the Bilstein shocks since I'm considering them in the future, if not for me then, for the rest of the Forum.

I got the bilsteins on last night, fronts were a bit more difficult than expected.  Ride quality is definitely better overall.  I would say that it has about the same stiffness as the POS ranchos maybe even more, but as I was driving through town on some of the normal roads and potholes we have here I could definitely tell the difference.  Overall I am pretty satisfied with the ride and I can't complain what so ever.  Question though has anyone had any luck changing uca's? I was thinking cognitos but have heard good things about moog too.  Not sure I am willing to spend more money when I am pretty satisfied with how the ride is now. Just curious if anyone has had any luck with that at all.
