Sounds like I have the same issue as some of you.  Driver side air conditioning is not cold.  Took it in with 1200 miles - refrigerant was low.  Service re-charged refrigerant and put in green dye.  Same issue came back 3 weeks later.  Refrigerant was 50%.  Clearly a leak but they cannot detect the leak.  They are saying they may have to replace/repair the evaporator (which is a pretty invasive fix).  Possibly the condenser.  

 

Has anyone had this issue resolved?  What was the solution in your case?  

 

Update:  

3,500 miles on my 2020 Sierra 1500...  No A/C on driver side (blows hot air out), then all A/C goes.  Dyed, pressure tested, and can't find a leak.  Last "repair" attempt (i.e. recharge refrigerant) lasted two weeks.  After 3 or 4 visits to GMC service, finally got them to order new parts.  

 

Replaced the condenser.  No leaks found.  Replaced condenser unit anyway.  

 

Took the entire dashboard out to access the evaporator.  *Found leak on evaporator.  Replaced evaporator.  

 

1 week and 500 miles have gone by.  So far, so good.  We'll see..

Mine too was the evaporator.  Well so they say.  Just about 2 days worth of repair.

I'm having the same problem on a 2019 Silverado (bought new). Took it in the first time at about 7,000 miles when driver side was not cooling; coolant was low, no leak could be detected. Dealer recharged and added dye to system. Taking vehicle back today (four months later), as coolant has apparently leaked out again.  Passenger side cooling, driver side not cooling once outside temperature reaches over 80 degrees. Vehicle has now been in the shop again for two days. Service department confirms system is definitely leaking, still unable to detect the leaks location after adding dye a months back. Service rep today said he was going to "contact engineering to see if they aware of any problems," as the Service Department if befuddled by it. I find it hard to believe a Chevy Service Department is not aware of this issue.

It is either the evap or condenser, these dealers know this and stall trying to use the lets recharge it and put dye in patch fix, if it worked fine before and then all the sudden didn't it is because it is leaking out of either of those parts, sometimes even a bad compressor but those usually will last past warranty before expiring and even the lines feeding it all have had a tendency to leak. This has been an ongoing issue since the 14 model year, same parts, same problems. Gm previous fix of the condenser was to literally stick a 3" x 5" piece of foil tape over the top right corner to try and help dissipate the heat that was causing condensers to fail and leak.

 

GM literally using duct tape to fix their incompetence, once you are past your 36k the fix is on you!

Hi guys. Yes, they all break down. Especially new models of air conditioners that work for a year and break down. It will be interesting to know how you found a solution to this problem.

Just wanted to post here that I battled with No Air Conditioning for a couple of months (2020 Silverado).  The first 2 times they did a pressure check and dye check and couldn't find anything.  They only refilled refrigerant and sent me on my way.  They stated that they have had no problems on the newer Silverado model so they baffled.  I am pretty sure if the refrigerant is low on a new truck then there is a leak somewhere.  Finally on the 3rd trip to the dealer they decide to "tear everything apart" to find the issue. They found that the evaporator core was leaking and replaced it.  This required them to pull the entire dash out to access and replace.  This has fixed the issue for now, but they created a a few new problems that they are going to have to fix this week.  They messed up the SD card reader and USB ports in the center console and the dash looks like a five year old tried to put it back together.   I hate that a vehicle that cost as much as this has to be torn apart to fix something as simple as air conditioning.

My 2019 Silverado AC rarely does not cool so dealer cannot diagnose because it works there. Yesterday it was 89 degrees and worked fine. We were at church for 1.5 hours and headed for a restaurant and was working fine. Outside temp shown on dash was 89. About 10 miles down the road it started blowing hot air. I looked on dash and outside temp showed 32 degrees. I’m guessing the computer wasn’t going to blow cold air. Finally temp increases on dash and cold ac again.

After a couple of trips to the dealer, they found a leak and fixed it.  No issue since.  Well, no issue with the AC since.  Brakes went to crap, but that's for another thread.

I have a 2021 3500 Denali Dually.  At 2,000 miles, the AC failed pulling my 5th wheel toy hauler from AZ to NY.  Had to go half way across the country with no AC.  Sucked in a new truck.  Once in NY, they said a "module" was bad, replaced it in about an hour, and presto.  But, on my way back from NY, it went out again in Texas.  Both times, it went out, came back on, off and on until complete fail and blowing out hot, humid air.  Once in AZ, took it in, and, they can't see a problem.  It fixed itself.  But now, it poops out, and recovers, off and on.  The dealership said bring it in when it acts up . . . but, of course, the truck knows when it's in the shop and is gas-lighting me.  Anyone else going thru this silliness in you new and very expensive truck?

have a 2021 chevy 3500 6.6 diesel. ac not cooling at times as well. we just replaced the fan clutch because it was weak causing insufficient airflow thru condenser. truck only have 35k on it. dealer could not get to truck till december. ac is now colder than before we replaced the fan clutch but driver states ac cuts out goes hot then ac comes back cold again. i have seen data stating low voltage to ac compressor clutch relay. truck is not modified. only have raptor lights in grille and hooked up to passenger side headlight parking light circuit. anyone have any ideas

I am going through this myself on my 2021 Sierra 1500. They have replaced the compressor, the evaporator hose, the sensor on the driver side, and are now in the process of replacing the evaporator. Also basically unable to find a significant leak, but it continually runs out of refrigerant. this is the 5th time I have brought it in for A/C issues in the 18 months I have owned it... VERY frustrating!

I’m having somewhat same issues in my 2021 Chevy custom 6.6 gas, was blowing cold this morning and went in to watch a movie for 2 and half hours at a theater, temperature in truck was at 111 and turn truck on and air and no air flow at all. Trying to figure out the issue, fuse look good. But when you turn switch on there’s no air flow from any vents.
