Terrible launch

I have a 2002 Silverado with a 4.8, it is 2wd the motor and trans is stock other than CAI, Vette servo and high flow exhaust and I swapped a 14 bolt semi float with 4.88s and Eaton posi locker into it, the truck is god awful off the launch, I’m trying to spin the tires into 2nd gear! I have been looking at msd 2 step, will that help or should I go straight for a custom tune? I’m trying to spend a max of $500? Oh yea the truck is on stock 2018 Silverado rims and tires

No replacement for displacement.  Or a super charger.

You should have already had it tuned for the 4.88 gear swap.

 

But a bad thing is that you swapped in a super heavy duty axle into a half ton with a low horsepower engine. The gears help but the weight of that thing and the mass are working against you. A 4.88 swap in the stock lighter 10 bolt would have been better.

If all you are wanting to do is spin the tires through 1st and into 2nd, then put some 78 series tires on it.

That was a joke I just need some help on how to make it better off the line! Does 2 step help or what’s my best bet?
