6.0 rear main seal

I have a 6.0L, 03 awd

While having trans rebuilt i thought id have the rear main done while trans was down, 166k.

It was leaking slowly/lightly but after it was replaced its leakng more, now dripping on driveway.

Tech said the rear main is perfect now but theres another possible suspect leak area to the left of the rms.

What would that be ??or is he just making excuses and rms is still leaking?

There is a rear cover gasket that can leak as well as the back side of the oil pan.

I would find the receipt and see just was replace. One would think if doing the rear seal a new rear gasket would have been used and it would have been a good time to do the oil pan but not necessary. I would locate the receipt and make sure it was replace.

There is an updated rear cover (seal housing) that is supposed to help. You can tell if you have it if the bolt heads are 13mm not 10. Comes with cover, gasket, bolts, and rear main. My 6.0 has the same leak.

It was an oem rms installed, from dealer, now it sounds like it could be the pan gasket as well.
