What is the purpose of part number 84688686. When I look it up on gm parts it appears to be the switch for the parking assist and lane departure. Also, I noticed a comment about the 4th and 5th Aux switches being unusable because they are dedicated elsewhere. Can anyone confirm?

Think you may be looking at the k2 or old body style diagram. That part is for the actual switches themselves.  Remember it’s colour dependant too. I have the walnut interior.  See below. And no it’s just the 5th switch that is pre wired for a roof emergency light. You could still use It just have to connect into the wire in the roof spoiler. There is a technical bulletin on the upfitter website about it. Let me know if you need any other info!

That is the 5 switch module. The outputs from the relays associated with switches 1-4 are left blunt cut in the harness. The output from the relay associated with switch 5 is within the vehicle plug and does provide power to the roof beacon circuit(located behind the CHMSL). But that could also be modified by removing the relay output from the vehicle plug.
I just installed this stuff this week. The battery cable was still on back order so I constructed my own.

How difficult was the overall process, any install pics, advice, tips? I’m considering doing this to run some aftermarket rock lights, train horn, and  other 12v accessories but want to make sure this is the right product for the job.

AUX switch 5 blunt wires location!! I have looked at bulletin 157...I have the spoiler... do I drill on TOP of the spoiler to the LEFT of the 3rd brake or do I drill from the BACK of the spoiler to the LEFT of the 3rd brake? I wish they had dimensions showing exactly where you have to drill the hole...Should I drill a 3/4" hole giving me lots of room to dig around in there?/

good question, its not very clear is it.  im always hesitant to drill into my truck no matter where it is!  this may be a case of better to bring it to an upfitter?

I’m away from home working on the states response to Coronavirus so I can’t get to my notes or the tech and upfitter bulletins I collected.
As I recall the bulletin you have to pull the third brake light to access the blunt cut wires for the roof beacon. It also showed the correct location to drill the spoiler.
I wouldn’t just drill a 3/4” hole to just root around in there.

The switches are latching switches driving 20 or 30amp fuses. It took a bit to figure it all out. The switches and main battery cable were on a back order the last I knew. But I was told my 2020 Sierra SLT crew cab couldn’t be equipped with the OEM upfitter switches, I’m so looking forward to returning to the dealership and saying look at this, BOOM. lol

I’m away from home working on the states response to Coronavirus, I don’t have access to my notes, part numbers, or TB’s used to figure this out. my apologies for delays in responding.

Gentlemen, I've been reading thru all the info in the thread, thank you all for sharing. I recently purchased a new 2020 2500HD WT Crew cab that had this kit in a bag in the back floor board. I was adamant with my salesman that something was needed to be installed or were these left over from an upfit package the truck had that they installed at the dealership. They really didnt know, so i ending finding the paperwork and then this thread. i actually have the entire upfitter kit for the aux switches. I don't know that i will need it but i may actually install it myself now. Thanks to all those that shared their install and the info provided.

Finally got home to look into my console for the UI Bulletin on blunt cut wire and drilling locations.

Anyone know where to get the studs that mount(slide into the brackets) in the power distribution box on top of the battery?  I've checked with the local dealer parts dept., and they have no idea.
