I have searched the forum up and down, including google as well as forum search tool and for the life of me, cannot find anywhere that speaks of the 2019 Silverado ignition wire location/color to tap into, enabling a control box to power on alongside the sound system powering on. I know my truck has the Bose sound system if there’s an amp that I could tap into for power possibly? I’ve searched the forum for the sound system topics and haven’t had any luck there either. I’d greatly appreciate any assistance in location of this wire.

I apologize if this does not belong in this sub forum also.

I understand but how much power are you pulling? Like 10amps or 200amps. What size wire or what are you doing?

I believe it is 16 AWG. It’s for a PA control head unit to power up with ignition. Link to the installation packet is, https://www.whelen.com/install/145/14570.pdf .

Under dash passenger side grey connector has all the rear harness and audio wires there is a amp turn on in there. I was also looking for the trail brake connector.

data on it is limited and I am not at my source now. I would meter wires anyways to make sure. Do you need power, ground and remote? in that case the draw would be lower. I know the colors but there is concern that it sets a code. It is stupid but there are codes.

That’s my main worry. I have battery ground and power, then running the remote wiring for the box to turn on with the ignition. I’ve heard pink wire and blue/brown

I know the camaro this came out of had it tap into the grey wire on the amp in the rear but I don’t know if GM is universal on their wiring. 9604a899a8056c0ec6735ac443924ca0.jpg

I just pulled up the wiring schematic for idatalink (the bypass module that I use for aftermarket remote start) and it shows that your ignition wire is under the dash on the BCM. It is a green colored connection and the wire is colored purple with a black stripe. There is also an accessory wire in that same connection that is colored purple with a yellow stripe. I would strongly recommend tapping into that location and verify a solid +12v signal before you proceed to hook up to it.

I wouldn't tap into that as i'm not sure what that wire controls. You will find that there will be quite a few of the same colored wires on the different connections at the BCM.

I wouldn't go for a ignition wire but rather a amp turn on or rap wire. If you must use a ignition wire I would just wire a mini relay as you already have positive and negative. Then the draw is near nothing and it is isolated.

That's what I always recommend as well. Unless it's something very small for current I always recommend a relay just for the added safety. The only wire that needs to be a little bit beefier if you plan to draw a lot of power is the lead that connects to the positive (or ground depending how you are using the relay) on pin 30 of the relay.

    • Thank you, I'll check that Autel scanner out and see if it will work for me! Ya I can see GM's point of view if they lower the psi set value for someone and the person sell's the truck and the new owner puts the factory tires back on then their could be liability issues cause the psi warning light wasn't coming on when the tires were under inflated for towing their load and then it might be able to be traced back to GM lowering it.
    • I had a similar but different response when I talked to the service manager where I bought my truck in that he said GM corporate won't allow them to lower the placard pressure setting as they would get their hand slapped but that of course they have the ability to make that change. His suggestion was simply go to a tire dealer or third party shop that is willing to reset the pressures lower. However I chose to buy a tpms tool and partly based off of this very forum as it had been proven to work on the 2024 model ( Global B system ) and while I could have paid lots for a full two way diag tool, I didn't want to spend that much and bought the recommended Autel TS 508 and it will reprogram the 2025 model and assume it should do the 2026 as well. However the tool is rather proprietary to reprogramming Autel tpms sensors so that is a function I will never use, where as a real two way scanner would have many uses but also have yearly subscriptions etc where this 508 is free updates for as long as they put updates out for the unit. In any event it worked to lower the placard pressures and I often use it to adjust my actual tire pressures although will check with a mechanical gauge as well sometimes just to make sure that tires tpms sensor isn't lying to me.    My suggestion is either buy a tool that you know will work to adjust the system or start out by getting the tire shop you bought your tires from to reset your truck and if after that you still want a unit to do it yourself, get one at that point. 
    • Here is an image of a quick Google search about these tires on my truck and it's exactly same psi recommendation the Toyo tires company gave me!    I'm not looking for anyone else recommended psi or anything, I'm just looking to see if anyone knew a way to get rid of the factory low psi warning light, because I'm not running high psi and ruining my tires when I'm not towing! 
    • 60psi front and 80psi rear But I am not running the factory tire brand or size! it's load range F Toyo tires
    • Open the driver's door jamb.  What do the cold tire PSI ratings on the tire placard show?   I'm not saying to run it to those numbers, but I would like to know what it says.
