2016 Silverado touchscreen

My 2016 Silverado touchscreen has gone balck and the controls do not work. The raido works, and I can control from steering wheel, but nothing else. Ive tried unplugging radio fuse, disconnecting battery etc, but nothing works. What does the HMI control? If I could narrow it down to the HMI or the touchscreen that may help. Of course I have 36,000 miles on it so just our of warranty probably. No phone or Bluetooth connectivity, no touchscreen controls.... It kinda sucks. The USB ports in the console work to charge phone- but no connectivity to audio. The USB in the glove compartment does NOT seem to charge phone. Does this mean bad HMI? If someone knows what plugs into the HMI please let me know- there are 4 plugs I think total, and I assume one is power or leads. Maybe one is an antenna??? Any help would be great

Only thing you can do is take to a GM dealer. Contact Chevrolet corporate customer service first though and complain of the issue happening when it is just out of warranty. They might do a goodwill repair or pay part of your bill.

The HMI controls all of that stuff...Start by checking fuse 34 on the driver side fuse panel, it should be a 10 amp fuse and then fuses 18 (20A) and 27 (15A) on the passenger side. They control radio, and touch the HMI.

Don’t bother messing trying to fix it. It’s jacked up, either the head unit, HMI or both. Take it to the dealer and hope you’re under warranty. If not, make a huge scene about the broken crap that GM keeps installing. There are so many documented cases of these failing that you’re gonna get some help eventually. Trust me, just went through it..

Bought my '16 a couple weeks ago and my HMI module is bad, $1060.  Arguing with the dealer now as it was listed as CPO but they are trying to deny it.
