Do wider (not taller tires) kill mpg?

I went with the new Yokohama X-AT's and absolutely love them. Very agressive looking sidewall with a slightly more agressive tread pattern than an A/T. They are in between an
A/T and a M/T. And they make zero road noise. I don't know how Yokohama pulled that off but they did. What they advertise is not hype. They are exactly what they are advertised as! On road performance is just like a highway tire as well. Awesome in the rain! And to top it off they have a 45K mile treadwear warranty. I returned a set of KO2's and exchanged them for the X-AT's. These will be my goto tires from now on. Not much info available online because they are a brand new line of tire. I'm incredibly happy I went with them. They are fantastic! These are one of those products that you wish everyone would try.

Just recently replaced my 295/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers with 285/60/20 KO2’s and have noticed a substantial positive difference in braking and acceleration as well as 1-2 mpg difference in added fuel economy. I lost approximately 6 pounds per tire and with more of an AT Tire tread pattern it’s got less rolling resistance too.

Kind of off topic, but did you out these on a leveled or stock height truck? I am looking to do a little bigger but maybe hold off till at decent coilover comes out for the level. Thanks.
