Bob2C Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Has anyone sent a pure sample to black stone labs to see the additives? I am currently using it and just curious at this point. I have seen other major brand reports. Thinking of sending a sample. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I get the oil cheap enough when the rebates are going on. I’ll buy whatever has them going on ( Mobil 1, Pennzoil plat, Quaker state advanced durability). I see costco has their own branded version. Warren distro like super tech and amazon. But in store 12.50 per jug. Crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

TXGREEK Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 All he did was report the Blackstone test results, doesn’t matter the vehicle he’s driving, the rest is up to you. Sent from Above

Jacoby Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I sent my sample off last week. Just waiting for the results. I’ve been using the 5w-30 and like it.
Doublebase Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Good oil, I've been using it for about 6 months, 5,000 mile intervals. Seem to consume less oil on it. Can't beat the rebates they ran all year and the moly is high. TBN is pretty good.
Jacoby Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 If it’s not Amsoil then it’s shit. Literally shit. You guys not using Amsoil are lubricating your motors with actual feces. just wanted to beat Greek to it that’s all

Pennzoil Platinum ran their rebates early in the year until around May (took advantage of that). Then the Rotella Gas Truck synthetic hit the shelves in May, they ran rebates the whole year. Been running it ever since with good results (5,000 mile intervals). So a steady diet of Rotella Gas Truck at $2 dollars a quart. Can't beat that. I also took advantage of the Autozone oil clearance...$2 a quart for 0w20 Mobil1 Annual Performance, Quaker State Ultimate Durability, Valvoline Modern Engine ($11 dollars a quart on Amazon), Rottela Gas Truck. Bought 100 quarts. I spent $200 for enough synthetic to last me 12 oil changes. All brand names, all highly regarded on Bob's the oil guy. It was a good year for buying oil - even though I have enough oil to last me two years I'm always in the market for the next rebate, lol.
