So, nothing better to do.........you just had to remind me of the remark that 52+ years ago that got Soupy Sales kicked off TV........didn't you?.....and it goes like this:    "Confucius say woman who fly plane upside down have crackup".

There's a thread that talks about disengaging a wire/pin on the back of the infotainment screen to make it dim as much as the back lighting on the dash.

They adapted from the following link to accomplish this.

I have a 2023 Sierra Denali 1500 Ultimate and the backup camera is so dark when using at night. The ambient lighting from street lights or house lights don’t seem to help any. It’s so dark i end up having to use my mirrors. I had a 2020 Sierra Denali previously and didn’t have this issue at all. It was plenty bright and visible with a much clearer picture as well. The resolution of this brand new one is awful. Is there a fix other than cleaning the lenses because that solution does not work.

I find that turning the dimmer for the dash down helps.

Bright dash screws up your night vision, making things worse -- even if using the mirrors.

Bonus it is that turning dash down so as to not mess up night vision also makes the headlights seem more effective (even though its the eyes that are improved by not having night vision reduced)

Despite all that I prefer to use mirrors except when really  close to something backing into something.

Way back when, dashes only had a couple of lights -- and the dimmer system could them completely off.

I wish that was still possible.
