2019/2020 Chevy 1500-door lock question

Hi guys, I'm considering buying a 2019/2020 Silverado 1500 and have a door lock question.  With the engine running and the keyfob (and the vehicle equipped with the push button start) in your pocket, can you get out of the vehicle and push the lock button on the driver's door handle to lock the vehicle?  Some manufacturers allow this and some don't so I'm wondering if the 1500 allows this.  This is useful for running into a convenience store or something where you have passengers and/or pets in your vehicle and you want to keep the vehicle running and locked while you are gone for a few minutes when it's hot out.  Thanks for your answers!

Can't lock it with the door button while running but can with the fob.

^ correct. you can leave it running (under 15 mins) and lock the doors with key fob.

Button on the inside also works. I usually just press it on my way out. Probably easier than pushing the one on the outside anyway.
