DMax in the Suburban

Does anyone know if and when they might be putting the DMax in the Suburban? It would add to it's towing capacity that is for sure and if they went with a 2500HD Suburban of course. Any news on any of these thoughts?

I understand that it doesn't fit. I heard somewhere that a six cylinder d-max is planned for subs and 1500s. I can't wait.

They would have to alter the frame or something.

 

A 6-cylinder D-Max would be cool, might get the idea back in Ford's head.

The Duramax will fit in a Suburban, the Allison on the other hand will not.

 

I was told by my truck salesman that they were going to come out with the diesel Sub but with a 4L85 tranny. That was well over a year ago and haven't heard anything since.

That's the same thing I heard. The Allison LCT1000 will not clear the trans tunnel. That's why the HD trucks have the body lift I think. And I also heard detuned Duramax mated to a 4L85E would wind up in the Suburban...but that was over a year ago.

Gm has no plans to put a Dmax in a Suburban.The next thing to get the Dmax will be the heavy duty Express vans.There is little demand for a diesel suv,most of us on this site would like to see it but the vast majority of soccer mom's want a quiet gasser .I got this info from The Diesel Page.
