Toyo M/T Dry Rot?

Hey All - I noticed today (while washing my truck) that my tires have tons of small stress cracks/dry rot between the tread blocks of all 4 tires. They are 33x12.5r20 Toyo open country M/T.

 

My truck is not my daily, however I do drive it frequently and put about 10k/year on it. These tires are about 2.5 years old, so let's say 25k miles on them.

 

I've read in multiple forums (chevy, dodge, toyota, etc.) that a good amount of people have experienced this, and they say there may have been a "bad batch" from mfg. A lot of those people getting a prorated credit towards a new set, some as much as 50% off from Toyo by submitting a claim.

 

I called Toyo, and they said that I need to have the dealer who I bought them from submit a claim, as I am not able to do so as the consumer (strange to me). Problem is, I bought these tires from a guy on FB marketplace, who test fit them and they didn't fit on his truck, so TECHNICALLY I am not the original purchaser (though I bought them brand new with stickers/nipples still on them).

 

I've lived in the same town with a pretty neutral climate, and have had sets of different 'offroad' tires for the past 15+ years (even another set of Toyo MT). This is the first time this has happened.....

 

Anyone run into a similar issue with any tire company before? Any idea on how to approach this? Or am I just s*** out of luck?

I wouldn't sweat it. Every set of Michelin tires I've ever owned got those cracks and never caused me any problems, just an eye sore.

All tires crack, long as it isn't excessive (air leaking out of the tire) it's not an issue. All my previous bfg tires did it. And I'm sure my toyo mts are doing it I've had them on roughly 2 years.
