Idle air control

I cleaned the throttle body today on my 2016 Sierra 5.3 and then I intended to clean the idle air control valve but no matter where I look I cannot locate it. I even looked the part up on line but cannot find anything like it anywhere near the throttle body. The only thing that resembles it is an electrical sensor but it only has one bolt in it, the air control valve is supposed to have two. I hate asking stupid questions but if anyone can explain where this thing is I would really appreciate it. Thanks

There isn't one.

 

It's a drive by wire throttle body. The idle airflow is control by the throttle blade, which is control by a airflow/torque request within the computer.

idle is also controlled mostly by the ignition timing for tighter idle control

The above are correct, there hasnt been a IAC since the LS series engines came out.

 

When the throttle blade is shut there is a gap there, that is the minimum throttle opening. That is what determines the idle function along with the ECM opening the the throttle blade to fine control it based on load from the AC system.

1998-2002's LS1 camaro/firebird, 1999-2002 trucks with cable throttle bodies had IAC's as well as the 2004 GTO with a cable throttle body. And don't forget the express/savanna vans with IAC's all the way up to 2004ish.
