Have a 2019 at4 and the shifting between 1st 2nd and 3 rd are hard and noticeable.  Any one else with this problem?  I know there seems to be some issues floating around out there with this but not sure if there on the old style 19's or the new body style or does it matter is it the same transmission?

Thanks in advance.

I have had this on my 2019 Silverado as well.  Looking online, it looks like it may be an issue on other GM vehicles as well that use the 8 speed transmission.

I mentioned this on my initial GM survey but they didnt really do anything other than say that a dealer could take a look, but I have never done that.  But currently the truck is at the dealer for some other work so I might call them and see if they have a common fix they do to try and fix it.   Reading some other things, it sounds like they may change the transmission fluid to a different brand or type.

If they do anything that helps I'll let you know

There are a number of well known issues with that 8-speed transmission. I had a 2019 trailboss for a year with an 8-speed. It was a very hard shift from reverse to drive and then from 1st to 2nd. Others report a transmission "shudder" while driving. If you take it into the dealership, they're likely to flush the transmission and utilize a new fluid. Some people have had great luck with the fluid, others report it being the same. There was a class action lawsuit pending, not sure if it got any traction. Not enough evidence was what I gather from reading about the February 2020 hearing. I believe in 2020 they've killed that 8-speed, could be wrong, but I know in the trucks it was replaced by the 10 speed with all engine sizes.

Sorry but the 8 speed is junk.  You've got to get the 10 speed, its as smooth as butter.  I traded my 18 just to get out of the 8 speed.

Well they didn't find anything wrong when they had it last so nothing was done at this point - i guess they couldn't replicate it.  i'll have to have them try and look at it again another time.....
