Where can a guy find this S&B intake? Everywhere but Realtruck seems to be out of stock and after recent posts on here, I’m not sure I wanna use RT.
I ordered mine direct from S&B's website. It said it was backordered, but I placed my order anyways. I received mine within a couple weeks if I recall.
Also, I've never had issues with realtruck on any of my orders. I've even gotten a discounted price by chatting with them through their online portal to place my order. This was all pre-Covid though.

Yea. S&B shows out of stock. I ordered my Retrax from RT about 6 weeks ago and had no issues either. But there’s been a slew of negative comments lately about them.

I ordered mine from AmericanTrucks.com Fast free shipping and comparable pricing.

@GA_LTZ   You have to make sure you disconnect the battery for 2 1/2 hours on these new trucks. I spoke with the technician at

S & B. This allows the computer to relearn the new air flow of the CAI. And also turn off the filter life, and you're good to go!

I have had K & N and Spectre CAI's but after installing and having my S & B on my Sierra, and waiting on my High Country, I won't go back. The price, fit and finish, performance, and looks are huge selling points.

Now that being said, I think Roto-fab, Cold Air Inductions, and AFE all make very good products, so close to one another, it really comes down to PRICE!!  Good luck with your purchase!

Have a great weekend!

Maybe I spoke too soon about not having issues... Every time I start it now I get the "check engine air filter system" message. I don't get a CEL, just the message. I disconnected the battery again for about 4 hours and made sure the air filter life is unchecked in the information page. Not sure what I did wrong, but its pretty annoying...

Well shoot. My 2018 had zero issues.  Loved it.  I just ordered my 2019 on Friday.   Should be here within next few days.

I called technician personally before ordering and asked all the questions, especially about an codes/errors popping up and if it needed to be re-tuned because when you buy the factory OEM cold air from GM they re-tune it......got me a bit skeptical.....but she reassured me if you follow steps, it would be good to go.

I think we all know that GM has made these new generation of trucks harder to add stuff to the engine for performance upgarding.....its very frustrating

Let me know how it turns out and I'll keep u posted on mine when I get it.  I bought it from realtrucks.com, never had issue with them but there is a post complaining about there service.   My fingers are crossed hoping mine goes smoothly

I reached out to S&B to see what they recommend I do. I will update the group with their response.

If you go to S&B's website and locate the intake for your truck, there will be a link to an install video. At the end of the video they show how to navigate your driver info menu to disable the air filter monitoring system. After I did that I haven't gotten any error messages regarding my intake.

I did that initially, and I just repeated the process last night. I disconnected the battery for 3+ hours, but when I went to the air filter monitoring system, I now do not have an option to disable it... It only shows up red and says "check system".

Oh man that's strange. I'm not sure what's going on there. Hopefully S&B can answer that for you.

I pinned back the flapper valve to full open today and noticed better throttle response. As well, the helicopter sound, when the truck is in the lower RPMs, has been reduced.

Overall, it sounds better, and feels like the power comes on smoother.

If you have the S&B, I'd recommend opening up the flapper!

Recently installed the S&B with the dry filter option and love the sound and performance. Truck originally came with a K&N CAI but recently decided I didn’t want the open CAI with the opening on top.

My 02 2500hd fells like a newer truck lol. Not. But the new intake looks good in the engine bay.

Yep, did that before I got my muffler swapped out.  Definitely recommended if you are going for more sound.

Update, this was my fault... Got the air filter monitor reset and disabled, correctly this time. No more lights!

Awesome, good deal!  Glad nothing was wrong with the intake or your truck. Mine is still on back order!  UGH!!!  S & B states it will be shipped out August 14th. Same time my new Corsa Exhaust comes in. So I can put them on at same time.

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
