j-ten-ner Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkLYY1XMVbY What bothers me in particular is the category "hitch compatibility". Sure, the RAM barn door design looks better in that case, because there's no trailer attached. I think that with most trailers, one wouldn't be able to use the barn door, because it would hit the jack. They criticized the Ford and GMC because the steps couldn't be used with a trailer attached. Well, that's why GM trucks have very handy corner steps in the bumper. After all, I think that the GMC with the corner steps is the best setup when it comes to having easy access to the bed when towing a trailer. so long j-ten-ner

I think the corner steps work well. 1
Cpl_Punishment Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 I read a story from one media type who was of the opinion that the Ridgeline has the best tailgate design these days.

SILVER SLED Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 I really really like the Ram “ barn door” style. The tailgate doesn’t get in he way of trying to reach up in the bed. That tailgate would not interfere with any of my boat trailers or my utility trailer.

j-ten-ner Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 Every tailgate on the above mentioned trucks drops down in the conventional way. That's not what I'm talking about. It's about the fancy way of the different solutions to gain easy access to the bed and the usefulness when a trailer is attached. so long j-ten-ner
Ryno12 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Couple of issues with TFLs review. They failed to mention the hitch view on the GMC tailgate camera. Not sure if the others have the same function but it should’ve been mentioned either way. The biggest thing that the TFL failed on with their review is the overall functionality of the tailgates. The Ram & Ford tailgates are one trick ponies. The GMC not only has 6 different functions, you can also add lights & a radio for additional functionality. They made a brief mention of other features that the Multi Pro has but they completely dismissed it in their categories & point rating system. It’s almost as if they ignored it on purpose and ignoring features in a “tailgate features” review, totally negates the review itself. Dumb. 1
Likarok Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 All I can say is some of the trends are crazy! I am just glad that Dodge chose the Big Horn Sheep are a mascot about 20 years ago and not something like a Mountain Lion. Otherwise we would have trucks driving around with "****" on the tailgate!
