I have the smaller quad-cab on my 2019.  In my 2016 I had the larger crew cab.  In both cases,  it's been my impression that these seats are designed for the comfort of young kids only which is disappointing.  In either case, the one thing that I wonder,  IF/WHEN GM will ever come out with the reclining back seats? Even if they just slide forward and recline a little, perhaps 2-3 inches back, I believe that would be a really good feature for us to have available.  Long overdue.

No doubt subjective. We took a 10 hour one way trip to New Mexico over the summer with another couple in my 2014 Crew Cab. We rotated driving so I sat in the back for about 5 hours as did they. We were all very happy with the comfort level. Plenty of room for my 6'5 frame to stretch out and put my leg on my knee. Also plenty of air moving back there for West Texas desert heat, had to ask them to turn it AC down a little.

Seats are different then they used to be, no longer super soft like a lazy boy but they have to instead break in. This makes them more durable in the long run. I will say the Volvo S90 and late model Altima with the Zero gravity seats are two of my favorites but these Silverado seats are nice once broken in. I have been in a 2019 Silverado and they felt a little hard just like mine when new (my passenger seats feels firmer than my drivers) but have little doubt they won't break in over time and be nice for most people, though everyone is different.

I have not sat in the back so I cant comment.  The front seats are definitely harder than the K2s.  But mine seems to be breaking it.  If you look at motorcycle seats, the soft ones end up killing you in the long run.   Good seats like Corbin are miserable hard at first, but mold to your but and then fit you for the long run.  Maybe this is what they are after.  I suspect the harder seats also reduce submarining below the seat belt which helps increase crash ratings.

At least they included decent rear headrests on this model.  The k2 rear headrests were a joke.

So just found out about the back seat problem in the 2024 Denali 1500..

I was ready to purchase the damn truck until I decided at the last minute to sit in the back seat.  We occasionally travel with adults in the back seat in my 2015 Silverado LTZ and they love the comfort. It took just a few seconds to discover that GM missed the boat on their luxury trucks.  The seating angle felt like sitting up straight in a kitchen chair.  And it felt like sitting on a wooden plank between two metal bolster supports barely covered with cushioning and upholstery.  I'm not an overweight guy, but those metal side bolster dug into my hips.

Unbelievable for a luxury vehicle.  Evidently according to the fleet sales guy, Silverado seats are now the same way.

I asked what if the abbreviated storage trough under the seat wasn't ordered, could the thicker seats be installed and he said nope.

Been a Chevy/GM guy all my life.  But for trucks at least, that's now over.  The 2015 Silverado LTZ of the last 3 LTZ'S I've owned and was by far the absolute best of them.

I have carried adults in my rear seats a lot with no complaints and the people that have been in the back, would pipe up if there was an issue. Not as nice as my Ram Limited that actually could "recline" the seat bottom moves forward to create the recline). Certainly not a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned.

Plus this thread is over 4 years old before the latest interior refresh.

The refresh did nothing for the rear seats or any of the seating for that matter. My 24 is the same seating wise as the 20 I just sold.
