Brand New 2019 Sierra 1500 AT4 Lemon

I am in the middle of a 2019 Sierra 1500 AT4 6.2 lease.

So far the vehicle has required:

- new fuel pump @ 3,000 miles

- complete engine replacement @ 21,000 miles

- new control module @ 22,000 miles (they "think this will fix the problems I'm having but not sure")

These repairs were all required under factory warranty and the truck has been in the dealerships garage for over a month total. The truck is still under factory warranty and GM had rejected my request to buy back the vehicle.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to deal with GM customer service? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I filed a claim with the better buisness bureau today. This was recomended for the first step before a lawyer and lemon law. They called me within an hour with instructions and procedures. Just curious what the issue is for them to replace the control module. No start?

Wouldn’t start, the entire electrical system would shut off, fuel gauge problems resulting in low fuel light and camera software problems

Check your State's Lemon Law guidelines.  Here in CA, it is based on either a "reasonable" amount of attempts to fix a specific problem, or 30 or more days OUT OF SERVICE.  I am already at 14 days on a truck I have had a little over a month, and the transmission is now leaking all over again...so it goes back in next week again.  Make sure you have all of your service visit paperwork showing how many attempts, and how many days it has been out of service.  GM will play hardball, often ignoring the customer in hopes you will just give up.  Sometimes hiring a Lemon Law attorney is only way to get anywhere...most of them will work on a conditional basis (you don't pay until they win your case)...so they will often invite you in to go over your paperwork/paper trail to see how good your case is.

Yes I had my 2019 repurchased. File with the BBB and with persistence it will happen.

When you say re-purchased, did you end up getting a 100% refund? Or was it just the price of the vehicle minus dealer fees.

Each State has different provisions for the Lemon Law. In Illinois GM was allowed to charge me a mileage usage fee and Illinois does not give back the sales taxes but some states do. Otherwise it’s based on 100% of the original purchase price.

My buddy is leasing a Denali that has been in the shop a bunch, filed with the better business bureau and had a call within an hour. Gm is letting him out of his lease early.

Well that's a good outcome.  Im guessing that since GM retains ownership of leased vehicles its easier for them to back out of.
