What LSD should I get?

I have a 2001 Silverado 2500hd with and 8.1. I was off-road and I noticed I had the infamous one wheel peel. I want to get an LSD, but there are so many options and specifications. So I’m here to hear from the experts. What differential should I get? And how do I figure out my ring gear size and spline count? Thanks in advance!

google for determining what rear axle you have, you can generally tell based off the bolt pattern of the rear cover on GM's, but you may also need to check the axle tag.  Most likely, given you've got the 8.1L, you probably have an 11.5" rear diff, same as the diesel's get.

 

Sorry, can't give you insight into which locking setup to get, as I don't have experience with any of them.
