Control arm

I would like to buy a complete front end rebuild kit for my 1996 Tahoe 4x4. It’s a two door LS model. The choices are like in price but one is listed for stamped steel lower control arm or forged lower control arm. How can I tell the difference between the two?  Thanks. Jim

They will look different for one.

 

Poke your head under the truck. Stamped steel lower arms the most common out there. I don't know if I've seen a forged lower arm but the upper arms I've seen those in forged. The uppers are just a Y shaped arm and the stamped uppers are some giant solid arms.
